For KAPSARC – King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center in Riyadh, designed by Zaha Hadid, TechnoShade delivered a comprehensive solution combining automatic smoke curtains with manual and motorized roller shades, tailored to one of the region’s most iconic architectural landmarks.
The automatic smoke curtains are engineered for rapid deployment in emergency situations, effectively containing and channeling smoke to protect occupants and maintain safe evacuation paths. Seamlessly concealed within the building’s complex geometric design, they preserve the architectural integrity while ensuring full compliance with international safety standards.
Complementing this, the manual and motorized roller shades provide precise daylight control across offices, research areas, and shared spaces. The motorized systems allow centralized or automated operation, optimizing glare control and thermal comfort throughout the day, while manual options offer flexibility in designated zones.
Together, these systems enhance both safety and environmental performance, reducing solar heat gain, improving energy efficiency, and supporting occupant well-being—all while respecting the bold, futuristic design language of KAPSARC. This project highlights TechnoShade’s expertise in delivering integrated, high-performance solutions for complex, design-driven environments.
